Race and Ethnicity of people with the last name Wahid

When analyzing the Ethnicity data from the Decennial U.S. Census, we find that the surname Wahid is predominantly associated with the Asian/Pacific Islander ethnicity. In 2000, more than half (54.51%) of bearers of the surname identified as Asian/Pacific Islander — a figure that increased to 59.42% by 2010. The percentage of those identifying as White also saw a noteworthy increase from 7.38% in 2000 to 16.12% in 2010. However, not all groups saw increases. The proportion of individuals with the surname Wahid who identified as having two or more races decreased from 20.08% in 2000 to 8.92% in 2010, while the percentage of those identifying as Black dropped from 16.80% to 14.24%. There were no bearers of the surname who identified as Hispanic or American Indian and Alaskan Native in either year.
