Data from the Decennial U.S. Census reveals that the popularity of the surname Vilas has decreased over time. In 2000, Vilas was ranked the 55,237th most popular surname in the U.S., with a total of 348 individuals bearing the name. This equated to about 0.13 individuals per 100,000 people. However, by 2010, the rank had fallen to 62,045 and the number of individuals with the surname also dropped to 323, thereby reducing the proportion to approximately 0.11 individuals per 100,000 people.

Race and Ethnicity of people with the last name Vilas
