As for ethnic identity, the Decennial U.S. Census data shows an interesting shift between 2000 and 2010. Although the majority of people with the Vasil surname identified as White in both years (96.5 percent in 2000 and 94.43 percent in 2010), the percentage identifying as Asian/Pacific Islander more than doubled from 0.93 percent to 1.94 percent.
