This surname is rare in Germany. 2. Altered form of Veeder, a surname of Dutch origin. History: Daniel, David, William, Garret, and Paul Vader, all born in the late 1790s or early 1800s in ON, Canada, were sons of Johannes Veeder from Schenectady, NY, a descendant of Simon Volkertse Veeder, an early Dutch settler in New Netherland (see Veeder).
