In 2000, "Sa" ranked 20,711 in terms of popularity, but by 2010, it had jumped to a rank of 17,572, indicating a significant increase of 15.16% over that decade. The number of people with this surname also grew, with the count rising from 1,187 in 2000 to 1,600 in 2010, a change of 34.79%. As a result, the proportion of people named "Sa" per 100k increased by 22.73%.

The Decennial U.S. Census data also revealed shifts in the ethnic identity associated with the surname "Sa" between 2000 and 2010.
