History: The progenitor of the Kiracofes was Friedrich Kirchhoff, who arrived in North America during the American Revolution as one of the German auxiliary troops brought over to aid the British. He was captured in the Battle of Saratoga in 1777 and later married and remained in VA for the rest of his life.
