History: One of the Americans who changed his surname from Gulick to Hulick (i.e. according to the American pronunciation), was Gilbert Gulick in the 19th century, a descendant of Hendrick Janszoon van Gulick, who arrived in New Amsterdam in New Netherland (now New York City, NY) in 1652.
