History: In c.1635, John Hudnall (born in 1616) emigrated to Isle of Wight County, VA. He was probably a descendant of Henry de Hodenhale, who is recorded in the neighborhood of Little Gaddesden, Hertfordshire, in 1307. The surname recurs in that village until the early 17th century and in nearby towns until the early 19th century, but it has since disappeared from English records.
