In 2000, Gogel was ranked 29,481 in terms of the most common surnames, with there being an estimated 755 individuals bearing this name. By 2010, however, its rank had slipped to 32,792 and the number of Gogels decreased to around 700, signifying a drop of approximately 7.28%.
