Irish: variant of Delaney. History: Born in Queen’s County, Ireland, Daniel Dulany (1685–1753) emigrated with two brothers, William and Joseph, to Port Tobacco, MD, in c.1703. In 1721 Daniel moved permanently to Annapolis, MD, where he served as attorney general, member of the MD assembly for 20 years, and held several high provincial offices.
