The Huguenot ancestor of the Cuddebacks was Jacques (Jacob) Caudebec, who arrived in New York City c.1690 from France and settled in Ulster County on Long Island, NY. He married Margaret Provoost in 1695. He is also listed in the register of Huguenot ancestors recognized by the Huguenot Society of America.
