History: Georg Adam Goranflo (actually Gorenflo) arrived in Philadelphia, PA, on the ship Ann in 1749 and settled in Hagerstown, MD, the name being changed to Colliflower in the process. His forebear Jacques de Gorenflos was a leading Huguenot in the 17th century. Religious persecution drove the family to Germany, where their surname became Gorenflo, and from there Georg Adam Goranflo emigrated to North America.
