In terms of ethnicity, the Decennial U.S. Census data showed several changes in the distribution of the surname "Books". While the percentage of individuals identifying as White increased slightly from 89.06% in 2000 to 92.60% in 2010, all other reported ethnicities experienced decreases. Those identifying as Asian/Pacific Islander fell from 0.93% to 0.42%, a significant drop of 54.84%. Individuals of two or more races also decreased by 12.90%, and those identifying as Hispanic saw a drop of 24.16%.
