According to the Decennial U.S. Census data, the popularity of the surname Allende has seen a significant increase from the year 2000 to 2010. In 2000, the surname ranked 19,813 in popularity; however, by 2010 it had climbed to 16,362 – an improvement of more than 17 percent. The count of individuals with the Allende surname also rose by over 40 percent during this period, moving from 1,256 to 1,760. The proportion per 100,000 people similarly increased by nearly 28 percent, moving from 0.47 to 0.6.

The ethnicity data from the Decennial U.S. Census reveals intriguing shifts in the ethnic identity associated with the Allende surname between 2000 and 2010. The Hispanic ethnicity overwhelmingly dominated, representing 89.17 percent in 2000 and increasing slightly to 92.27 percent in 2010.
